The FARM WITH SCIENCE project (FWS) involves the collaboration of Italian partners (Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Institute for Applied Genomics, Trieste Area Science Park) and local partners (Podgorica Faculty of Biotechnology and BIO-ICT- Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics , Faculty of Electrical Engineering both in Montenegro, and Novi Sand Agricultural University in Serbia), that participate in production, start-up, promotion and monitoring of the technological platform, which is managed in two languages: Italian and English.

The 12-month pilot phase focuses initially on the design and content of the platform and the development of a demonstrative prototype, and it continues, in the second half of the project development, with the platform progress that regards some specific areas of the agricultural sector (Viticulture - Aquaculture - Variety Innovation), with promotion and putting the site online.

Once the website is online, the second phase is going to start that includes the evaluation and testing for approximately 6 months and a search for funding in order to continue with the management, maintenance and implementation of the platform. Throughout the duration of the project, a technical team, formed by Italian partners, will work on two lines of research for finding European financial aids with the aim of contributing to project follow-up. The partners will try to develop the intervention in the Adriatic-Ionian dimension, expanding area contents and the themes proposed and building new partnerships. The platform will therefore not only be able to offer content to the target but it will also represent a stimulus for developing partnerships between organisations, research institutes and companies in order to create new start-up projects.

The involvement of other Italian participants is planned during the second phase of the project (CREA, il Consiglio per la Ricerca in Agricoltura e l'analisi dell'economia agraria (the Agriculture Research Council and The Agrarian Economy Analysis), and the regions that are part of the inter-regional EXPO 2015 coordination: Campania, Emilia-RomagnaLazioTuscanyUmbria and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano), through participation in dissemination and sharing of the content and through collaboration and participation in online events and training.
